It may be unfamiliar to you what a Sales Funnel is. Online and offline marketing have been using it for decades. Additionally, it is a technique that is widely used online by product sellers.

This allows a seller to make more money from people who visit their site.

Newly, marketers are also utilizing sales funnels to increase their own earnings.

There are two types of sales funnels:

1. The Multi-Product Funnel

There’s the funnel used by JVZoo, Warrior Plus, and sometimes ClickBank as well.

Typically, you will purchase a low-cost front end product that will then be subjected to a variety of upsells and one-time offers in an effort to part with more money.

Such a funnel aims to sell you several products in quick succession before you have a chance to think about your choices.

The offers usually have timers telling you how long you have left to make a decision or that limited quantities are available.

2. The Single Product Funnel

A single product funnel focuses on selling a single item.

By using a funnel, you are repeatedly exposed to the product and explain why you or your business will find it useful if not essential.

Typically this is accomplished by getting a visitor to sign up for a free offer and then following up with a series of emails that describe how the product you’re trying to sell to them works.

A less common tactic is to offer free training and information to prospects regardless of whether or not they buy.

Sales Funnels In Use

If you have ever purchased anything in the Make Money Online niche, then you have already been exposed to a multi-product sales funnel.

Sometimes, they leave a bad taste in your mouth and make you feel like you’ve been hounded into going above and beyond what you intended. That may cause you to feel resentful.

Does that feeling resonate with you, is it something you’d like to transfer to your own customers?

Don’t forget that those who see your offers are real people, not credit cards.

Treat your potential customers as you would like to be treated.

It’s for that reason that I prefer the second type of funnel.

There’s no hard sell involved. Having a free offer is an effective way to entice prospects.

Next, you introduce them to your offer and why it will be a good fit for them.

Your goal is to persuade them that what you’re offering will make their lives easier or help them solve a problem.

Once they decide to buy, the decision is made.

The techniques of false scarcity, such as counting down the timer or informing them that only limited copies are available, haven’t forced them into making a decision.

They will feel better about their purchase since they made the decision on their own terms.

Having earned their trust, you can use that to help you market other offers to them more successfully in the future.

How Can You Start Using Sales Funnels?

For WordPress users, the squeeze (optin) page plugin will help you create other kinds of funnel pages.

However, creating a sales funnel is not the simplest task. The plugins are great for creating individual pages rather than an entire funnel. It is possible, but you need to be very organized and keep track of how each page relates to the others.

It’s also possible to build sales funnels with a service such as Clickfunnels. Such a service eliminates the need for your own website. Everything is done for you by the tool.

You should now understand the advantages of creating your own sales funnel, using whatever tool you choose.
